Overview
The Mini Boom is a versatile and reliable tool for mounting various accessories such as lighting fixtures and strobes. Its knurled baby pin ensures a secure hold, while the v-shaped brass brakes provide strong 3-point contact. The thick threaded collars also contribute to its stability, ensuring a solid grip from t-handles and set screws. Additionally, a rear mounted hook allows for the use of a sandbag to counterbalance the weight of the accessories.

This boom was specifically designed to address the need for a sturdy option that can withstand the weight of multiple accessories without bending. Made entirely out of steel, it can be mounted on a 5/8″ baby pin and extend up to 80″ (203cm). A hook is also provided at the end for sandbag placement. It is important to properly balance the boom and include the weight of the counter weight, lighting fixture, and accessories when choosing a stand to attach it to. Safety should always be a top priority on set.

About the Matthews MD-427802 Mini Boom
The Mini Boom was designed because of the growing demand for a boom that would not bend when an array of accessories were added to it, like small lighting fixtures or strobes, such as light banks, egg crates etc.It is made completely out of steel, the Mini Boom mounts on a 5/8″ Baby Pin and will extend over 80″ (203cm), terminating in a 5/8″ pin. A hook is provided at the rear end of the boom to accommodate a sandbag for balancing. The use of a Baby Drop Down will keep the lighting instrument level. It extends from 45″ (115cm) to over 80″ (203cm).

CAUTION: Any light boom that is not properly balanced is extremely dangerous on a set. When calculating the proper stand on which to attach the boom, be sure to include the amount of counter weight in addition to the lighting fixture and accessories being used.
