Overview
The FS7BRFFP from SHAPE is a complete bundle for the Sony FS7. It includes a full-size baseplate (FS7BP), additional support handle (HAND3) and a follow focus (FFPRO). This baseplate is compatible with standard VCT quick release plates and features two ARRI-style Hirth rosettes for attaching the included HAND3 handle. The HAND3 handle utilizes push-button technology for fast and easy adjustment of handle position. The baseplate also allows for vertical adjustment on both 15mm rod blocks to set the optical center, ensuring comfortable and efficient use of the camera.

The included follow focus, FFPRO, features a snap-on clamp mechanism for quick attachment and removal on the 15mm rods. It also has an adjustable arm for optimal positioning on the lens, as well as variable hard stops and a removable marking disc. The baseplate also has a soft but durable shoulder pad for comfort during long shoots. It comes with 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 screws for attaching the camera. This baseplate is made in Canada using CNC machined aluminum parts and is covered by a lifetime manufacturers warranty.

About the SHAPE FS7 Rig with Follow Focus
The FS7BRFFP from SHAPE is a complete bundle for the Sony FS7. It includes a full-size baseplate (FS7BP), additional support handle (HAND3) and a follow focus (FFPRO). It provides the basis for comfortable and efficient use of the camera, both for shoulder-mount use and when operated from a tripod.

SHAPE’s HAND3 is a double-articulating length-extendable handle, designed to complement Sony’s FS7 SmartGrip. Featuring SHAPE’s push-button technology, it’s possible to positon the handle in virtually any position. SHAPE’s push-button system is a spring-loaded button that quickly disengages the rotational lock, allowing the handle to rotate 360°. A single wing-nut clamp also allows the handle to be lengthened by 1.5”, increasing handling options. The handle attaches using one of the two ARRI-style Hirth rosettes positioned either side at the front of the baseplate.

The FFPRO is a professional follow focus that mounts onto the 15mm rods using a snap-on clamp mechanism. This clamp mechanism allows for quick attachment, removal and re-positioning on the rods. The drive gear is mounted on an adjustable arm, ensuring it’s always in the optimal position on the lens, no matter diameter. The unit also features adjustable hard stops, a removable marking disc and an industry-standard socket for use of optional whips and cranks. Included are two 0.8 mod drive gears; one with 28 teeth and one with 43 teeth.

It’s fast and simple to achieve the perfect balance when shoulder-mounted. This is due to the long mounting slot, allowing the camera to be positioned further back or forwards, depending on the camera/lens combination. The soft yet durable shoulder pad ensures long-operation from the shoulder does not become uncomfortable and reduces fatigue.

Built-in compatibility with standard VCT quick release plates means that swapping from handheld to tripod is both fast and efficient.

As well as mounting the included follow focus, the 15mm rods can also be used for other accessories such as a mattebox. Both the front and rear rod block height can be adjusted independently, ensuring compatibility with professional mattebox solutions that do not have adjustable heights. Both rods are clamped in place using a single wing-nut, increasing speed when swapping lengths or moving rod positions during a shoot.
